Penobscot General Contractors is pleased to announce that we have started working on our latest project – a $72 million development at 52 Hanover St. in Portland. The Port Property Management’s development has occupancy planned for spring or summer of 2023 and is set to be Port Property’s largest residential project to date. We’re pleased to share some more details of the project in this blog.
Proud to be the Construction Partners
In a change from Port Property’s usual approach to construction, they decided to use outside contractors for the Hanover Street project. We were proud to be selected as the general contractors for this luxury mixed-use complex, and plan to complete work within 16 to 18 months. The building has a refreshing design and is expected to bring a lot of attention to the West Bayside area of Portland.
What Will the Development Property Feature?
As a mixed-use property, this development will feature both apartments and retail space.
The 171 apartments in the complex will be a mix of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom units. 10% of the residential space will be designated workforce housing. Residents of the apartments at 52 Hanover St. will have access to convenient parking in the complex’s garage, as well as access to a storage and repair area for bicycles. However you choose to travel around Portland, these apartments strive to provide the space and amenities you need to do so conveniently.
When they step outside, residents will have access to a grassy courtyard with plantings, fire pits, and even a water feature. A ‘living’ wall made of plants will be another prominent, refreshing aspect of the development.
The commercial area of the development will consist of 6,500 square feet in the complex.
