Jon has 27 years of experience managing multiple projects concurrently with new construction and renovations, spanning from multi-family residential, life science, office, educational, medical, hospitality, correctional, entertainment, and government buildings. His experience, technical knowledge, business background, and communication skills allow him to provide advanced technical direction of all critical and complex project components. He oversees project performance including safety, quality, production, cost controls, procurement, financials, etc. and guides the team through decision making, procedures, coordinating work, change management, and contract administration to ensure all project goals are met.

While not at Penobscot General Contractors, Jon and his wife live in Winterport and enjoy spending time with their three great kids. With two teenage daughters and a 7-year-old son, life at home is busy with lots of sports and other activities. Jon and his family also enjoy exploring Maine’s vast outdoors whether it is camping, hiking, boating or spending time together in our side-by-side UTV going on wildlife safari’s.

Clay’s experience includes over $600 million in construction, renovation, and development projects in a variety of market sectors including healthcare, multi-family, labs and clean manufacturing facilities, and commercial office buildings. Clay spent a portion of his career as an Owner’s Representative for major healthcare development projects. This experience allows him to bring a unique insight to construction with his ability to anticipate and serve the customer’s needs. Clay’s experiences have convinced him that through collaboration and teamwork, buildings can be constructed in a manner that provides better experiences and outcomes for all project stakeholders. He uses this mindset to fulfill his role of overseeing the general business management of the company.

Clay lives with his soon-to-be wife in Portland with their beloved dog Ollie. In his spare time, he enjoys spending the summer’s golfing and winters skiing in the Maine mountains. He is a passionate New England sports fan and never misses an opportunity to gather with friends to watch the game.

Joe has 16 years of experience capturing a diverse portfolio of construction projects including entertainment, healthcare, government, infrastructure, residential, and luxury retail fit-out markets. Joe’s years have been spent focused on operational excellence and building lasting relationships with those he works with. Joe is passionate about project safety, logistics, completing each project as efficiently as possible, and supporting the people who are involved on his projects, no matter their role.

Outside of work, Joe is blessed with his significant other, two kids, and three dogs. In addition to enjoying the kids’ extracurricular activities, Joe likes traveling domestically and abroad but is also just as happy sitting around a fire in the back yard sharing a laugh with good company.

Nicole has 20 years of construction experience with a focus on reviewing and negotiating contracts, managing the company insurance program, bond and claim expertise and overall risk management, as well as the day-to-day business responsibilities of the company. Being soft-spoken, firm but fair, allows negotiations and what could be tense claim situations to run smoothly for the benefit of all.

Nicole is originally from California, and now she and her husband live in Winterport with their teenage daughters and 7-year-old son. In between the many sports activities, their family enjoys spending time at their property hunting, gardening and being outdoors as well as traveling and vacationing in various locations around the state of Maine.

Alex has 5 years of experience involving multiple projects in several aspects of commercial construction. His engineering background, knowledge of construction practices, and communication skills allow him to provide sound input and direction across multiple projects. He is involved in many aspects of a project, from estimating and preconstruction, to scheduling, procurement, change management, and guides the team through the submittal/RFI process. Alex is also involved in the company’s project controls, developing several SOP’s to be used across the company in various aspects of work.

While not at Penobscot General Contractors, Alex and his wife live in North Carolina. They enjoy spending time with family, playing golf, various outdoor activities, attending football games, reading, and playing with their new puppy Darcy.

Ron has 24 years of construction experience including Owner of Weymouth Builders in which he built custom homes and log cabins. He later took a shining to millwork and spent 10 years as a foremen for Windham Millwork. He has worked in 11 hospitals across the state, numerous banks, schools, casinos, retirement facilities, assisted living and multiple courthouses. With many large millwork projects all over New England under his belt, it has provided him with an eye for details and quality craftsmanship.

The last few years he has held a Superintendent role including a 35 million dollar high-end hotel built-in downtown Portland.

Ron and his wife Amy live in Orrington and just celebrated their 25 Wedding Anniversary. They have twin 20-year-old boys in which they spend as much time as possible enjoying the great Maine outdoors, fishing and family trips on the UTV with puppy Cooper. Ron enjoys cooking on the pellet smoker, so the boys frequent many nights a week for dinner!

Derek and his kids also enjoy being back in the State of Maine after being out west for close to 10 years. He wanted the kids to grow up in the great State of Maine to enjoy all that it has to offer.

Steve has over 35 years of experience managing projects as a superintendent and general superintendent, with new construction, renovations, multi-family residential, life science, office, educational, medical, hospitality, correctional, entertainment, and government buildings. Matt has worked in the construction industry for 15 years starting out mostly in residential under the tutelage of his father. Matt moved to southern Maine in 2008 to expand his skill set and learn from various other builders. Matt moved back to mid-coast Maine in 2015 to work for a company that primary installed kitchen and bathroom remodels. Kyle Lucas

Kyle has joined Penobscot with 9 years of professional experience as a superintendent, and several more years in various construction and building roles. Kyle worked for many Maine summers in historic home renovation and carpentry, and continues to refine his skills with many home projects. Kyle graduated from Lehigh University with a degree in Architecture, and immediately moved to Washington, DC to start his career as a superintendent. He was a part of a half dozen different high-rise, mixed-use buildings comprising over $530 million, 1500 units, and 65,000sf amenity spaces, and was able to quickly assume project leadership roles on these sites. After several years in the Washington area, Kyle was ready to bring his skill set back home to Maine and joined the Penobscot team in summer 2022. Kyle values the collaboration between his site team members and fostering relationships with subcontractors and their employees. He also brings to the table a knack for strategizing and coordinating project timelines, drawings, and other necessary project details

Kyle lives in Falmouth, Maine with his wife, 3 year old son, and is expecting another boy in March 2023. He is greatly enjoying renovating and restoring his 1819 farmhouse and is bringing his vision of a barn workshop to life.
